Ezekiel 47:12 "And by the river upon the bank thereof, on this side and on that side, shall grow all trees for meat, whose leaf shall not fade, neither shall the fruit thereof be consumed: it shall bring forth new fruit according to his months, because their waters they issued out of the sanctuary: and the fruit thereof shall be for meat, and the leaf thereof for medicine."

Kava Kava, "The Pacific Elixir"

the pacific elixir kava book

Kava is a mild drug that fortunately has not been on the receiving end of any government oppression. It looks like the big companies have gotten on board now, and there is kava candy being sold(probably with some type of isolate or professional extract in it). There's a guy down in south Florida who became a self made millionaire off selling kava. This book not only goes into great detail on the ethnobotany of Kava, but it also goes into great detail into the phytochemistry, and pharmacology of the species as well. It is a very well written book, that must have given the author a great sense of accomplishment because the sources are epic in length. I could write blogs all day just using this one book as a source. For anyone who is a fan of Kava, or a writer, this book is for you. Whether you enjoy a good read, or you need a good source to cite, you'll be satisfied.

A Peoples History Of The United Staters

american history book

A Peoples History Of The United States, is a book written by oppressed cultures who lived in America during the most troubling of times. It gives accounts of what it was like to live in America as African Americans during the slave trade, Native Americans during the time their land was taken, and they were discriminated against, and other oppressed human beings. It illustrates the troubles America has faced throughout its entire existence in fighting tyranny. Cheating and supremacy cults still exist today, and must be brought down. People need to know about the history of America that isn't so much rainbows and unicorns. The dirty truth needs to be revealed, so we can work together to end it once and for all. Stand up for yourself and other people. Grow your numbers, and unite.

Beating Cancer With Nutrition

beating cancer with nutrition book

This is a rad book that I use as a source to cite facts for this website, among many others. It's the book that I first learned about Aloe vera and its active components, and how they enhance communication between cells! That's right, it says that Aloe vera produces pharmacological components that enhance cellular communication among cells! It's a book written by two Ph.D doctors, a married couple. They cite a large number of scholarly sources and basically lay it out and explain how your nutrition makes or breaks your health. They prove to you that food really does fight cancer, and that it's your genetic, lifestyle choices, and environmental factors that influence the development of cancer, or the overcoming of it. I pulled up an academic source for the Aloe vera thing, and found one titled "Potential application of Aloe Vera-derived plant-based cell in powering wireless device for remote sensor activation."[1] woah...

Pharmacognosy, 9th Edition

pharmacognosy book robbers

Pharmacognosy is the study of crude drugs obtained from natural sources, including plants. The book breaks down all of the different categories of phytochemical components of plants that you commonly hear about, from lipids and fats, to tannins, alkaloids, mucilages, glycocides, and common components of various essential oils.. It basically is a run down on all of the basic principles of plant based medicine. It truly illustrates how recurring a lot of plant components are in nature. We have a solid understanding of what to expect from most samples of most specimens. It's very confusing becausae apparently pharmacognosy and phytochemistry go hand and hand, and are closely related, so close it's hard to tell them apart from an amateur perspective. This book has diagrams of phytochemicals in it too, which is far out. It has a really good index in the back, and it even touches base on ergot!

Plants, People, and Culture: the Science of Ethnobotany

ethnobotany book

I give this book the maximum rating that it can get. I use it to cite a lot of stuff on this website. It's very thorough and mentions ethnobotanicals that you don't commonly hear about online, or even see being sold in shops online. It's a breath of fresh air for someone like me who wants to expand their pharmacopeia and knowledge of medicine. I really admire how thorough the book is put together, and how it combines science and culture, as the title suggest. It's a book you won't regret buying. It talks a lot about how ethnobotany and phytochemistry, are all tied in with the discovery and production of modern pharmaceutical drugs. Drug companies view their tainted versions of naturally recurring substances as superior, but I however, take a more holy and primitive stance on the matter, and view the plants theirself as the perfect medicine(superior to the big pharma version). I prefer the herbal remedy over the pharma, and believe it to be a much better medicine, safer, and far more complex. People are being fed knock-off fake versions of medicine that's made in the likeness of the real deal, but it isn't the real deal.

National Geographic, Plants That Heal

national geographic book plants that heal

This is another book that I cite a lot of facts from on this website. I encourage you to buy these. This book exposes how big drug companies process mass quantities of dried plant material in the manufacturing of pharmaceutical drugs. This point that I've been on a mission to spread the word of for over ten years now, is not mainstream knowledge to the average pharmaceutical drug user.. They have no idea that they're taking something that they could grow a better version of at home. The only thing better than the cool facts in this book, are the incredible high quality images that you won't find just anywhere. It's a must have for serious book collectors, especially those interested in herbal medicine and or ethnobotany.

The Nutrition Guarantee

nutrition guarantee book

To complete the theme of natural healing, here is yet another book that will guide you on your quest to better understand the pharmacology of the food that you eat, and how it affects you biology, mood, and other aspects that effect the quality of your life on a daily basis. Written by a leading nutritionist, the book offers comprehensive advice on good nutrition, emphasizing the importance of vitamins. It discusses the benefits of antioxidants, and what the science says about how they are used in the treatment of specific diseases. It mentions a lot of herbs for healthier living.

New Choices In Natural Healing

new choices in natural healing book

This is a very thick and thorough book that details a through z herbal remedies, a little science behind them, and how to use them, including precautions, and dosages, and even preparations. It's a very effective book in terms of teaching one how to actually use the medicine, and giving them a little science behind the mechansims of its pharmacological activities. It's a really cool book and I use it to cite a lot of really cool facts that I share here on this website. The authors did a great job, and I would highly suggest their work to anyone in the market for a great new read. This book is for sure a good one to have on the shelf as a book you can count on for being a good citation on your blog or project.

Plants of the Gods

plants of the gods

ISBN: 0892814063

This is a book written by Albert Hoffman(the famous LSD Chemist who worked for a drug company back in those days), and Schultes(an ethnobotanist). Bouncing Bear Botanicals modeled his ethnobotanical selection after all of the plants listed in this book. The most common ethnobotanicals you see being sold, and talked about today, were those same plants that Albert Hoffman and related psychedelic researchers were interested in. Thus, further proof that the fields of ethnobotany and modern medicine are connected to one another. It is my belief that it is this book that first popularized morning glory seeds as a "legal high". The birth of the ethnobotanical industry is primarily influenced by hoffman, schultes, and related scholars. This book played a huge role in shaping the industry. It is astounding what the dude did though, and I do find his story most fascinating. Hoffman himself says in a documentary that lysergic constituents have existed in nature for thousands and thousands of years, way before he ever discovered them in the pharmaceutical laboratory. God is the OG of all drugs and medicine.(The God of the bible)

If you're interested in the subjects that I discuss on this website, and facsinated by them all, then you're interested in: ethnobotany, pharmacognosy, phytochemistry, pharmacology, and medicine in general(and or "drugs").
